KS2 Tests (SATS)
At Roundthorn Primary Academy, we understand that KS2 Tests (SATS) can feel like a big milestone for both parents and children. These assessments are designed to help measure progress in core areas of learning and to provide information about how your child is doing as they approach the end of Key Stage 2. For many pupils, the tests are also an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have built over time.
KS2 Tests are taken in Year 6 and typically cover English reading, English grammar, punctuation and spelling, and mathematics. In addition to the tests, teachers use a range of evidence from day-to-day learning to support their understanding of each child’s strengths and next steps. Our priority is that pupils feel prepared, supported and confident, and that the assessment process is handled calmly and professionally.
We will share clear information with families about dates, what to expect, and how you can help at home in practical ways. Simple routines—such as regular reading, practising key maths facts, and encouraging a positive attitude—can make a real difference. If you have any questions about KS2 Tests (SATS) or your child’s preparation, please speak to your child’s teacher or contact the school office for guidance.
